Phase 1
If elected Governor
State Workers:
-
Immediately issue an Executive Order stating that unless there is an absolute necessity for a position to be in the office, State employees under the governor’s purview are capped at no more than two days a week in office. This will lower traffic, reduce traffic-related deaths and injuries, save the State money on real estate, improve work-life balance, improve employee retention, and lower carbon emissions.
-
Immediately pilot a four-day work week (8 hours a day) for a few months. If successful, the four-day work week will be immediately offered to all state employees under the Governor's purview with the goal of pushing this out to all state employees.

Board of Professionals:
-
Create a board of professionals from different fields (economic, financial, energy, structural, workforce, and policy) from across the State to help create a comprehensive plan to better California.
-
Citizens will vote on any proposed changes during general and special elections.
Protections from Artificial Intelligence:
-
Establish Artificial Intelligence protections for all workers in the State of California.
-
As part of these protections, a committee will be established to investigate AI initiatives that potentially threaten the jobs of California residents.
-
If a threat is detected, AI initiatives will be halted immediately until they can be voted on by California residents.
-
Findings will be reviewed with the public ahead of elections, and State residents will vote for or against the specific AI initiatives.
-
If voted against, the specific AI initiatives will be unlawful to implement.
-
Government Spending:
-
Immediately review and itemize all government spending and list proposed cuts. (See Phase 2).
-
Restructure and balance public K-12 and public college/university budgets to allocate more money to teachers who do the job of educating and less to presidents, coaches, and top-level administrative positions.
-
Review financials of all State politicians and investigate "dark money" within our political system. If unlawful issues are uncovered, the State of California will enforce the existing laws.

-
In a Direct Democracy, there is no need for Senators and Assembly members. We will review work loads and cut non-essential members.
Phase 2
The citizens of California will vote on the following:
Revise Policies to Address Increasing Numbers of Homeless:
-
We will treat the underlying causes of homelessness before we focus on rehabilitation to ensure these efforts are sustainable.
-
Overhaul our State hospitals to accommodate the growing homeless population.
-
The homeless population will receive the treatment they need and assistance with gaining employment and housing.

Promote telework and four day work week for private sector jobs across California:
-
The benefits of telework and a four day work week are studied and contribute to increased productivity in the workplace, increased work-life balance, and reduction in environmental impacts.

Government Spending/Tax Overhaul:
-
Review government spending cut proposal and hold an election so the citizens can vote on the proposed cuts.
-
Review the current tax system and develop a plan to overhaul it so everyone pays their fair share. California residents will vote on the proposed plan.

Secession Experts and Findings:
-
Gather experts from across the state to discuss the possibility of seceding from the United States.
-
Share findings with the public and hold an election so California residents can decide for themselves whether or not to secede.

Phase 3
If secession is possible and is voted for by the citizens of California (wins by a majority)
If California Residents Vote for Secession from the United States, there will be a separate election to vote on the following:

-
Secede from the United States and become our own nation.

-
Implement universal healthcare for every citizen.

-
Implement universal higher education.
-
Implement joint 200 days of 100% paid parental leave for both mothers and fathers as a standard for all employees in the public and private sectors.
-
Ratify our constitution to protect the citizens of the nation of California.
-
Build relations with other nations by removing tariffs.
-
Allow California to grow to an international powerhouse.
-
Rise rapidly in top rankings for education, health, happiness, and productivity on the world stage.
Fun Fact:
In 2022 California paid $692.2 billion in federal taxes and received $609.1 billion in federal funds.
That's $83.1 billion that left our state and went elsewhere.

Imagine what California could have done with an extra $83 billion.
